Executives say, “The right things aren’t getting done.”
We tell them, “Make what must be done simple and clear.”
So they rattle off their list of priorities.
In doing so, they’ve already failed.
Because it can’t be 10 things.
It has to be one.
…
But here’s the joke.
By providing one focus, the right 10 things can still get done.
How is that possible?
Pick the right What (an objective that can be achieved, at a leverage point).
Share the Why (so doing is easy and follow-through creates momentum).
Do not meddle in the How (beyond basic constraints and freedoms).
Does that make sense?
