Obedience is the lowest form of participation.

It’s worse than doing nothing, not participating at all.

Hell, willful disobedience would be better than unthinkingly following our orders.

Better than all those options, however, is active, thinking participation.

In our way of leadership in the workplace, we want the people in our care thinking and choosing. We want to earn their actions, rather than coercing them to do what we say.
